A POSTCOLONIAL FEMINIST READING OF J. M. COETZEE’S WAITING FOR THE BARBARIANS (2000)

چکیده

Literary texts and kinds of research have reframed postcolonial experiences to capture several issues in society. On that note, Coetzee’s Waiting for the Barbarians has chalked many successes gaining attention literary scholars subject text interpretation using varied approaches, except feminism. The aspect feminist is fundamental. thrust this paper analyse theory. Guided by three objectives, study uses qualitative content analysis method interpret text. From analysis, reported that, while objectification ‘othering’ are characteristic representation females text, violence against them constructed through fear torture resisted mainly silence. Also, mode narration influences presentation narrative readers. Finally, offers implications further other theories or approaches.
